דייוויד בלהרי – הצומת שלי 0 נמצא בשני חלקים של הבית. החלק העיקרי הוא ארון מתלים אטום במוסך שלי הכולל את השרתים שלי. החלק השני (Node1) ממוקם בבית והוא הנקודה המרכזית לתיקון של CAT5. יש עוד פרטים והרבה יותר תמונות באתר האינטרנט שלי.

פול גייל, פיקסל סיליקון – Node0 שלי בנוי בארון ארונות כפול. נהיה די חם שם עם כל הערכה. הוספתי מאוורר תמצית תקרה (סוג שירותים בשורה) הנשלט על ידי X10 AD10. זה מרמז שאני יכול להפעיל/לכבות את זה לפי הצורך. כרגע יש לי את זה נדלק בשעה 08:30 ויכבה כאשר אזעקת הנוחות חמושה למצב לילה (מכיוון שהאוהד מעט רועש). השדרוג הבא הוא להתאים לאוורר שקט יותר עם זרימת אוויר גדולה יותר שכן Node0 עדיין מתחמם מאוד בקיץ.

Quinten Uijldert – זה התחיל עם ארון קטן, אבל אחרי שהמוסך חולק לשני חללים, הוצאתי את זה והבררתי הכל לשולחן העבודה/הקיר, הוא גם עונה על אחת השאלות שנשאלו זמן מה על הפעלת דברים מהמוסך. שלי פועל כבר מספר שנים וכל עוד אתה ממשיך להריץ את ההילוכים, עיבוי או קר (הוא למעשה בונוס!) אינו נושא. הדבר היחיד שצריך לעשות הוא כשאתה מכבה (ומשאיר לזמן מה) דברים הם להביא אותם לבית ולתת להם להפוך לטמפרטורת החדר שוב לפני שתתחיל אותם (כפי שהעיבוי יתיישב אז).

ניק לוק – אפס הצומת שלי פרוש על פני שני קירות במוסך, כך שאף תמונה אחת לא יכולה לעשות את זה צדק. תמונה זו מציגה את אשף CBUS. שני הארונות המובילים כוללים דימר שמונה ערוצים יחיד ושלושה ממסרי שתים עשרה כיוונים. הקבינט התחתון הוא תוספת אחרונה, ובעקבות הצעה של עמיתו של UKHA רגיל, כולל אנשי מגעים לשמירה רבה יותר על ערוצי ה- CBUs המניעים את אורות הבטיחות והאבטחה החיצוניים. בנוסף ל- CBUs, יש לי גם התקנת נוחות. עוד יותר פרטים והרבה יותר תמונות נמצאות באתר שלי, כאשר הרבה יותר מתווספים כל הזמן.

נייג’ל גידינגס – זה הניסיון הראשון שלי לצומת 0. אני בונה כרגע בית בנ ‘קנט, כך שהצלחתי לשלב אותו בעיצוב הבסיסי. לאחר שהייתי מנהל בכמה חברות טלקום ראיתי לא מעט מרכזי נתונים והעתקתי רבים מהרעיונות מאלו. גמישות מאוד חיונית עבורי ולכן יש לי כמה לוחות טלאים והשתמשתי גם במסלולי טלוויזיה בכבלים שניתן לגשת אליהם בקלות. דרישת העיצוב הנוספת היא ששאר הבית צריך להיראות ‘רגיל’ ככל האפשר, כך שהצומת שלי 0 הוא המקום היחיד עבורי לבטא את עצמי. כל שאלה או הערות שלח לי דוא”ל לכתובת nigel@corbenic.co.uk

Rob Mouser – Node 0 הוא ארון/שולחן כתיבה מובנים בהתאמה אישית במשרד שלי. מלבד מסכי LCD, רמקולי הרכבה לתקרה ועיני IR של Xantech אין לנו ציוד בשום מקום אחר בבית שנראה לעין. הרעיון כולו היה שעם הדלתות סגירות זה נראה כמו כל ארון אחר ושקט די שקט, הוא בנוי משכבה של ½ אינץ ‘ו- MDF וריססו כדי להתאים את צבע הקיר במשרד, בגלל משקל הציוד ב the racks the structure is tied to the ceiling and floor joists. To the left and best of the desk we have two full height rack enclosures including all PC and AV equipment and above the desk includes the wiring patch panels for data, voice, audio and video. below the desk are the C-Bus consumer units for the lighting. The best hand unit also houses the comfort alarm install although this is not visible from any of the pictures.

Rob – Calling it Node 0 is probably a bit grandiose but it is where many of my bits sit under the stairs!  The space is just 44x44x54cm thus why it looks so cramped. on the left are the incoming BT lines (3), patch panel below and HomeVision below that. Back wall houses the 3×8 pabx with two switches in front sitting on the Vigor 2600+. finally on the left we have power, wireless AP and an MSS100 for Homevision. The main servers are in the garage and sky is distributed from the loft.

Mark Cox – In node zero we have termination for the 3 CAT5 sockets and coax from each room, and the typical router, switch, cable television modem. The bottom best houses a 1-wire hub currently monitoring six room temperatures and offering switching for the heating. the box on the best that looks like a doorbell actually is an wireless doorbell receiver hooked into the 1-wire network. The rest of node 0 stores all those old PC bits and pieces I’ll never need but just can’t throw away (like an ISA SCSI card).

Harry Hendriks – Node 0 is in the upper half of a closable, customized built cupboard in MDF on the first floor. It is fully functional in our newly build home because 2 years. on the left hand side are the incoming (mostly cat 5) cable televisions from our home (IR-sensors, phone connection, TW 523, Camera’s and other video connections, safety and security connections and control, smoke detection, anemometer, temperatures, etc.).

They interconnect in a flexible manner to the Node 0 equipment side: the Homevision controller, a laptop PC linked with the WiFi + ADSL home network, a Power distribution board + supply unit + battery, + an I/O board (with relays and allowable windforce detection: 5 Bft), an X10 integrity testmodule, a phone unit and TW523. On top of the controller is an IR + RF relay unit for remote control of the variuous automated functions in the house or vicinity. The laptop is used for the Homevision monitoring software, the always on line Internet weather information data exchange and also as a easy PC-scope for measurements through the PC soundcard.

Philip Rogers-Davis – This is my Node Zero, and it’s located in the loft. I have a number of devices located in a 19” rack. From top to bottom, the purchase is as follows:

In the rack is a room thermostat that is connected to two high speed (but noisy) case fans in the home safety and security Server. When it gets a hot up there, the fans kick in and create a high through flow of air through the case, and stop the server from overheating. Overall, it has been worth the effort, and keeps everything much tidier and less prone to ‘accidents’ when in the loft!

The grey vents conceal 10cm hi-flow fans each with built-in temperature controls.  tucked away is a Keene electronics IR distribution system so that I can control it all remotely from the front room. plus an energy-saving socket that turns everything off automatically when the TV is turned off. There has been an X10 system in place for lighting but that is on the blink at the moment.

dunks517 – The rack is made up from a 20u cannibalised cabinet, placed into a void in the home office.

Hidden behind the blanking plates are a 16 Port Netgear ethernet switch, Netgear ADSL moden & router, HDMI Cat5 Balun attached to sky HD, Labgear Loftbox – Coax distribution, Keene ir controller, X10 CM12u usb interface.  I am considering extending the rack to 40U and adding sliding shelves, a fan/extractor and placing the printer in the rack.

Simon Smith – numerous years ago I discovered the Automated home site, and within it was this Node Zero gallery. The projects in that gallery inspired me to build my own. The opportunity came up when moving into my current home – an old semi-detached house needing a little work. There was a period of several weeks between owning the house and moving in that implied that I could go crazy with installing cable televisions without anything getting in the way.
