Husqvarna Automower evaluation part 1 – The Robots are Coming

earlier this year Husqvarna introduced a campaign looking for 100 blog writers to test out their Automower robotic lawnmower range.

Now who doesn’t want their own bit R2D2 running round their garden, so of program I used as well as in the end was lucky sufficient to be shortlisted to get one of the bots.

Husqvarna have kindly offered the recipients the possibility to keep their machines at the end of the trial, in return for committing to creating a series of video evaluations over the summer. After unpacking the bot the very first task was to hook it as much as the mains as well as get it charging. We sited the base deck and connected it to the outside mains socket that we had installed back when we were building the Automated Home.

Next our dealership set about laying the limit cable around our garden. This brings a signal that the Automower detects as well as stays within.

Reggie used around 450 metres of limit cable plus about 200 metres for the guide cable that takes a central path across the lawn. The bot utilizes the guide cable to navigate back to the charger quickly as well as it can likewise return following the limit cable (the long way) or via a radio signal from the charger.
